DAY 1 BRISBANE TO ALSTONVILLE (230kms)
Pick up your rental car this morning for your self-drive journey to Sydney. Following the Pacific Highway travel past the Gold Coast, Australiaís premier beach resort area. You will cross the Queensland border into New South Wales border and continue travelling on to your accommodation at the Humeís Hovell in Alstonville. This luxurious bed and breakfast retreat is on a Macadamia farm near Ballina. This is a delightful place to relax in the comfortable lounges at the end of the day. Enjoy the awesome night sky of the Southern Hemisphere. Humeís Hovell is near nature reserves and is a great gateway to national Parks of the northern rivers area of New South Wales.

DAY 2 ALSTONVILLE TO BELLINGEN (250kms)

Continue your drive south today to the small forest town of Bellingen which is one of the most cosmopolitan areas on the north coast of New South Wales with its outdoor cafes, Swiss patisserie, Dutch, French and Asian restaurants, art galleries and craft shops. Situated on the edge of town your accommodation, Koompartoo Retreat is set on 5 acres of magnificent grounds featuring native plants which attract many rainforest birds to the area. You may even see a wallaby heading to the spring for a drink at dusk. Donít miss the treetop boardwalk at nearby Dorrigo National Park.
